Custom Pivot Doors

Love That Door®

A pivot door doesn’t swing on side-mounted hinges like a traditional door. It rotates on a central or offset pivot point — creating a dramatic, architectural entrance that turns heads. At Love That Door®, we engineer custom pivot doors from 10-gauge cold-rolled steel, built to handle the weight and scale that makes a pivot door the centerpiece of a home.

These aren’t lightweight aluminum showpieces. Our pivot doors are heavy, structural, precision-balanced steel — designed to operate smoothly for decades.

How a Pivot
Door Works

Love That Door®

Traditional doors hang from two or three hinges on the side of the frame. A pivot door rotates on a single pivot point — typically located near the top and bottom of the door, offset from the center. This allows the door to swing both inward and outward, and supports much larger, heavier door panels than a standard hinge system can handle.

The result:

  • Doors up to 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide
  • Panels weighing several hundred pounds that still open with one hand
  • A dramatic sweeping motion that standard hinged doors can’t replicate
  • No visible hinges — clean, modern lines

Love That Door® pivot doors use a soft-close pivot hinge system that controls the speed and motion of the door. No slamming. No drifting. Just smooth, controlled movement every time.

Why Homeowners
Choose Pivot Doors

Make a Statement
Nothing matches the visual impact of a pivot door. When guests approach your home, a 9-foot iron pivot door with full glass panels announces the kind of home they’re about to enter. It’s not just a door — it’s an architectural statement.

Maximize Your Entryway
Pivot doors support larger openings than traditional hinged doors. If you have a grand entry, a tall foyer, or a modern open-concept home, a pivot door fills the space in a way that standard doors simply can’t.

Modern and Traditional Designs
Pivot doors aren’t just for modern homes. Love That Door® offers pivot doors in traditional wrought iron designs with scrollwork and decorative elements, minimalist modern designs with clean lines and full glass, and everything in between. Your door, your style.

Built for Texas Weather
Our pivot doors are built from 10-gauge cold-rolled steel, galvanized and zinc coated for corrosion resistance, then finished with a triple-coat paint system. The soft-close pivot mechanism is engineered to perform through Texas heat, humidity, and storms — year after year.

The Love That
Door® Difference

Love That Door®

Pivot-door-1

10-Gauge Cold-Rolled Steel
The thickest in the industry. Competitors use 14-16 gauge steel — thinner, lighter, and less durable. Our 10-gauge construction gives every pivot door the structural integrity to support oversized panels without sagging or warping over time.

Soft-Close Pivot Hinge System
Every pivot door includes a precision-engineered soft-close mechanism. The door slows itself in the last few inches of travel and closes gently — no slamming, no bouncing, no damage to the frame.

Galvanized & Zinc Coated
Double-dipped for maximum corrosion protection. Then finished with a triple-coat paint system for a durable, beautiful surface that holds up to Texas weather.

In-House Installation
Our own teams install every pivot door. Pivot doors require precise balancing and alignment — the pivot point must be calculated based on the door’s weight and dimensions. This is not a job for a general contractor. Our installers ensure the door is perfectly squared, leveled, and balanced for smooth operation from day one.

Lifetime Door Warranty + 10-Year Finish Warranty
We stand behind every door. Lifetime warranty on the door itself, 10-year warranty on the finish, when installed by Love That Door®.

Pivot Door Installation
— What to Expect

Step 1: Design Consultation

Visit one of our four DFW showrooms to see pivot doors in person. Our team helps you choose the right size, style, glass, and finish for your home. We take measurements and discuss your entryway's structural requirements.

Step 2: Custom Engineering

Your pivot door is engineered to your exact specifications. We calculate the pivot point based on panel weight and dimensions, select the appropriate hinge system, and design the door to your aesthetic vision.

Step 3: Manufacturing

Built in our own facilities from 10-gauge cold-rolled steel. Galvanized, zinc coated, and finished with our triple-coat paint system. Quality inspections at every stage.

Step 4: Professional Installation

Our in-house team installs the pivot mechanism, aligns and balances the door, applies liquid nail beneath the threshold for a weather-resistant seal, installs closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation around the jamb, and adds color-matched exterior trim. We don't leave until the door operates flawlessly.

Frequently Asked

Questions

01.

How much do pivot doors cost?
Pivot door pricing depends on size, material, glass configuration, and finish. Because every pivot door is custom engineered, pricing varies by project. Visit a Love That Door® showroom for a free in-person quote — we’ll walk you through every option.

02.

Are pivot doors hard to open?
No. Despite their size and weight, a properly balanced pivot door opens with minimal effort. The pivot mechanism distributes the weight evenly, so even a 500-pound door swings smoothly with one hand. Our soft-close system controls the closing motion automatically.

03.

Can a pivot door be used as a front door?

Absolutely. Pivot doors are one of the most popular choices for front entries in luxury and custom homes. They create a dramatic first impression and support larger openings than traditional hinged doors. Our pivot doors include full weather sealing, security locking, and insulated glass — everything you need for an exterior entry.

04.

How long do pivot doors last?

Love That Door® pivot doors are built from 10-gauge cold-rolled steel with galvanized zinc coating and triple-coat paint. With proper maintenance, they’re designed to last a lifetime. Every door comes with a lifetime door warranty and a 10-year finish warranty when installed by our team.

05.

Do you install pivot doors in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Yes. Our in-house installation teams serve all of Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding areas. We never use subcontractors — every pivot door installation is handled by our own trained professionals.
